Nyenrode Business Universiteit, the Netherlands

Executives and lecturers of the Faculty of Business Administration attended the Intensive English Courseheld from 6 April to 10 May 2014 at Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands. The English course was divided to 2 courses: Fundamental English and English for Executive.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit, found in 1946, is the only private university in the Netherlands with the motto “For Business by Business.” The university was established and supported by the executives of Dutch multinational companies such as KLM, Shell, Unilever, Philips, and Akzo. The main goal was to rebuild the economic position of the Netherlands and Dutch enterprises after WWII. In 1982, it was recognized as a university by the Dutch government, the Netherlands Business School, as it was called then, changed its name to Nyenrode Business Universiteit in 2005. The Nyenrode coat of arms is found in the logo of the University.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit is housed on 140 acres estate with a thirteenth-century castle. The estate is well known for its beautiful landscape and bordered by the Vecht River and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. Apart from its beautiful landscape, there are the deer park, the maze, the rose garden, hiking and jogging trails through the woods, and a lane with centuries-old chestnut trees. The university offers the most valuable facilities such as a library, a restaurant, a gym and fitness center. With its quiet and peaceful atmosphere, and due to the intensive nature of Nyenrode programs, the campus offers students clear benefit.
