3 teams of students from the Faculty of Engineering called “By Parts, By Part 1 and By Part 2” joined “14th years Honda Eco Mileage Challenge 2012”, competition on 14th February 2012, at Muang Thong Thani Lake. By Parts team won the first prize, By Part 1 won the second runner – up prize and By Part 2 won the third runner – up prize. These teams have been controlled by Asst. Prof. Dr. Somjai Peianprasit and Dr. Nataporn Jindaprasert.
The 3rd year students of Industrial Design from the Faculty Architecture and Design won the second runner up with its work called “BUDDYBEE” at ADDA DESIGN CONTEST # 5 on 2 February 2012 at Courtyard atrium, Siam Center.
On 29 March 2012, Dr.Surachet Dejphoong, Assoc. Director of the Institute of Research and Development received “ Excellent Automotive Innovation” award on the topic of “Diesel Dual Fuel system (DIESEL + LPG)” from Dr.Prajin Aiemlumnao, President of Grand Prix International Co., Ltd. in the 33rd Bangkok International Motor Show 2012 at Grand Jubilee room, IMPACT Arena. The innovation reduced the use of diesel fuel in diesel engines car for 66%. In this event, Dr.Surachet Dejphoong was invited to discourse the research to mass media and audiences on the topic of “ Research and Creating Diesel Dual Fuel system”.
Asst. Prof. Poovapat Ektaseang, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Textiles and Fashion Design, RMUTP was awarded “Civil Servant of the Year”. He received honor needle (gold garuda) and Certificate from Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister on Civil Servant day 2011 at Royal Thai Government House on 1 April 2011.
Asst. Prof. Kaewta Khaoluang, Director of Quality Assurance Office received Quality Ambassador Award for Vocational Education.
Asst. Prof. Nivat Jaruvarakul, Director of the Institute of Academic Resource and Information Technology received honorable “Outstanding ICT Contribution Award” from Prof. Dr. Channarong Pornrungroj, Director of ONESQA at the National Academic Conference 2012 “Quality Assurance of Thai Education under the Auspicious Reign of His Majesty the King” taken place on 11 May 2012 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Bangkok.
