Representatives from RMUTP’s Team Stabilize from the Facuty of Engineering received the third place prize in the rescue robot competition at the RobotCup 2011 held in Istanbul, Turkey from 5 to 11 July 2011. Their success could not have occurred without a concerted effort from the members of the robots club. They fieled three robots in the competition; two robots were manual control rescue robots and the other was an automatic control rescue robot. Unfortunately, the rescue control robot was side-lined due to a hardware and software malfunction. For this reason, Team Stabilize received help from the Team Pandora which hailed from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. They used an automatic rescue robot from the Panadora Team to garner points for Team Stabilize in the playoff. Team Pandora were later defeated and did not pass on to the next round. Apart from the conquest of Team Stabilize, we also receivee fellowship from Team Pandora. It seemed that Stabilize won the championship considering goodwill and friendship between two universities from different country.
