English Camp

From May 15th to the 27th Rajamangala University of Technology hosted ATPAC / Ball State University’s annual Thailand – English Camp and Dr. Kris Rugsaken.  The 18 day seminar had a delayed start due to the closure of all government offices, yet camp leaders were afforded the chance to see the outskirts of Bangkok.  They visited the cultural sites of Ayutthaya (Bang Pa – In Summer Palace), Damnernsaduak Floating Market, Phra Pathom Chedi and other points of interests during this period.  A special RMUTP thanks goes to P’ An and the International Affairs Division for all of their hard work and patience throughout the duration of the camp.  When the seminar resumed, students were able to practice English with native speakers from the United States during morning classroom periods and on cultural excursions in the afternoon.  Classes were held at Rajamangala Phra Nakhon Faculty of Engineering and included trips within Bangkok and to the surrounding provinces.  Next year’s camp will include overnight lodging at multiple sites outside of metropolitan Bangkok and will be an entirely different camp than last year (more details will follow in the upcoming months).  The faculty strongly encourages RMUTP students to consider going to next year’s camp to broaden their educational experience.
