Woranaree Chalerm School Wins the Royal Cup for the Third Time with the Creative Media Against Drugs Concept

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), by the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, organized a TikTok clip competition under the theme “Be One, Don’t Rely on Drugs,” as part of the 14th “To Be No.1” media competition for the Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi’s Royal Cup. A total of 81 teams nationwide participated, with 21 teams advancing to the finals.

The “Malai Team 2” group from Woranaree Chalerm School in Songkhla won the competition for the third time. The competition was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Kasidit Suthivanich, Vice President for University Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Widchaporn Taipjutorus, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, RMUTP, who presented awards and certificates at the Pranakhon Commercial Center, RMUTP.

Kenny Tan, a Grade 12 student at Woranaree Chalerm School and representative of Malai Team 2, the winning team, shared their concept. The clip titled “A Warning from a Beloved Friend (Hell’s Forbidden Realm Is Terrifying)” begins with the Grim Reaper, the lord of death, speaking to a spirit named Kong who died from a drug overdose and is about to be sent to the fifth realm of hell. The spirit pleads for a chance to return and warn his friends. The story then shifts back to the human world, where a friend is studying while using drugs but senses Kong, who warns them to quit drugs. Ultimately, the friend gives up drugs and graduates successfully. The main idea of the clip stems from imagining the afterlife and the final request a spirit might have. The fifth realm of hell, known as Mahororuwanarak, is a place for those who indulge in intoxicants and drugs, leading to the storyline. This clip aims to raise awareness among youth, using graphics to enhance its appeal. The team’s third win demonstrates their teamwork and skills. The team comprises two other members, Ms. Kanchalika Nuansuwan, Grade 12, and Ms. Anchisa Jindakrabuan, Grade 10, who collaborated effectively in story development, filming, editing, and online dissemination.

“The TikTok short clip competition not only encourages youth to use their free time productively but also involves them in preventing and solving drug issues. It provides a platform for young people to present ideas and new perspectives, creating a more livable society. We hope this project continues to offer creative opportunities for the new generation,” Kenny Tan concluded.
