Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), stated that education serves as a crucial foundation for developing knowledge, skills, and future career opportunities. One of RMUTP’s key goals is to create educational opportunities that enable all student groups, including students with disabilities, to access the education system. The university believes that education can enhance the employability of individuals with disabilities and open pathways to career advancement. This aligns with employment statistics for people with disabilities in workplaces and government agencies. According to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (data as of October 28, 2024), the number of workplaces required to hire people with disabilities has steadily increased: 64,720 in 2021, 63,727 in 2022, 67,857 in 2023, and 69,311 in 2024.
Data on RMUTP graduates with disabilities over the past four years reveals that they successfully found employment after graduation, often with well-known organizations. Dr.Natworapol emphasized that RMUTP annually opens admissions for students with disabilities pursuing bachelor’s degrees. For the academic year 2025, the university is offering 46 seats to applicants with hearing, physical, mobility, or visual impairments (e.g., color blindness) who are able to manage daily life independently. Eligible applicants must have completed or be completing a vocational certificate (Vocational Education) and can apply through the quota system (Round 2) until January 13, 2025. High school graduates (Grade 12) can apply via TCAS Round 2 (Tcas2) from February 10 to April 21, 2025. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 or meet specific faculty requirements and hold a disability identification card in accordance with the law on promoting and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.
