Education has evolved in response to changing circumstances. Several advancements
have been made, the most notable being the installation of the “Artificial Intelligence” or AI system to aid with learning management. Multimedia PCs and computer-assisted education can help students. Lessons, instructional packages, and yet another incredible invention Is to deploy AI robots to assist teachers in improving pupils’ English language abilities because English is a language. It is a necessary ability for communicating with individuals from other countries in Thailand 4.0. As a result, English language learning management systems at educational institutions should be regularly updated to be more current and conducive to learning, allowing students to practice conversational English with native speakers in real-world situations.
Dr. Khwanruethai Boonyasena is a lecturer at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon’s Faculty of Business Administration and the project leader for the research project “Developing English communication potential of Rajamangala University of Technology students through integrated learning with digital technology and practical training.” The research and development of intelligent robots called ‘Ajarn Robot’ for teaching English to students was mentioned, and students who received research funding from the Office of Science Promotion Commission Research and Innovation (TSRI) and were supported by the National Research Office (NRCT) participated in the Swiss Confederation event ‘SPECIAL EDITION 2022 – INVENTION GENEVA EVALUATION DAYS’. In addition, the researchers received a gold award for their work presented at the event.
According to Dr. Khwanruethai, the development of robots has continued throughout time in both the commercial and domestic sectors. The Robot was followed by the creation of artificial intelligence technology, which is currently widely used. It is a science that uses engineering and scientific knowledge to create systems with intelligence akin to that of humans, including comprehension, natural language processing, and human intelligence, which entails problem-solving, planning, and learning, as well as adapting to and interacting with their environment. This served as inspiration for the development of a humanoid robot teacher named “Ajarn Robot,” which can be used as a tool for teaching and learning English. The robot was created in collaboration with CT Asia Robotics Co., Ltd. to take learning, practicing, and developing English skills for students and students to a new level. The research team consisted of Mr. Kiattisak Larppanichayakul, Dr. Saran Chattanyakit, Dr. Thanaphon Ratchatkulphat, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chantrawan. Samranluekkit, Dr. Mongkol Meelun, Mr. Peerawit Chadla, Mr. Chalermpol Punnotok, Mr. Yuenyong Henfapanya and Prof. Dr. Milla Kinnunen from University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
Dr. Khwanruethai said that robot technology may be used as a teaching and learning tool since the robot can be designed to engage with students in a positive and active way, hence increasing their drive to learn.
The “Ajarn Robot” The use of digital technology along with hands-on practice amongst students, teachers, and robots to help students improve their English language fluency is a breakthrough in teaching and learning. While playing activities that involve singing and dancing, this artificially intelligent robot can help you practice communication skills including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This makes learning fun. Robot technology may one day be designed to enable intelligent robots to organize classes in accordance with the demands of both the robot and the students. Academics in robotics are now hired at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon to help teach students in engineering courses pertaining to inventions like computers, industries, electric power, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Business administration encompasses the disciplines of finance, information systems, business English, international business (international program), and linguistics: English. The study team also plans to develop teacher robots for additional subject areas including mathematics, science, and coding in order to increase students’ learning effectiveness. said Dr. Khwanruethai.
