RMUTP Holds Sports Development Committee Meeting to Promote University-Level Boxing Athletes and Preserve the Art of Muay Thai and Boxing Performances

RMUTP Hosts Boxing Sports Development Committee Meeting to Advance University Boxing, Preserve Muay Thai Arts, and Promote Public Engagement
On November 8, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), through its Student Development Division, held the 2nd Boxing Sports Development Committee Meeting of 2024. The meeting was chaired by General Chetta Thanajaro, former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, in his capacity as Chair of the Advisory Board. Attendees included Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, along with honorary advisors such as the Presidents of RMUTP Alumni Associations, including those of Rajamangala University of Technology, Bangkok Commercial Campus, Chotiwet Campus, and North Bangkok Campus. The meeting was held at Rapheephat conference room, 3rd Floor, Rapeepatthanasak Building, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Thewet campus.

    1. Educational Development:
      • Support for boxing athletes to pursue higher education, with scholarships awarded based on their skills.
      • Promotion of inter-university boxing tournaments to align the sport’s growth across universities.
      • Development of university-level boxing athletes to compete on national and international stages.
    2. Cultural Preservation:
      • Hosting discussions on the future and perspectives of boxing in Thailand.
      • Producing promotional materials to highlight the art of Muay Thai techniques
      • Organizing “Keeta Muay Thai” performances, showcasing Muay Thai combined with music, as cultural media for both domestic and international audiences.
    3. Promotion and Public Engagement:
      • Offering short training courses for students, the general public, and foreigners to build skills in boxing and self-defense.

The RMUTP Boxing Sports Development Committee is committed to realizing these initiatives and advancing the goals of fostering boxing education, preserving cultural heritage, and expanding accessibility to the sport.
