On March 16, 2024, Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, along with university executives and faculty members from the Hotel Management program, visited the “BOREALIS” cruise ship operated by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. This visit was conducted with the management team from M Global Talents Co., Ltd., the university’s strategic partner in developing educational programs.
The purpose of the visit was to observe and understand various aspects of cruise ship management, including:
Bridge Management (ship control systems)
Food & Beverage Management
Housekeeping
Galley Operations (hot and cold kitchen)
Spa Management
Leisure Sport and Recreation Management
This study tour aimed to prepare for the launch of a new short-term program at the university: “Personnel Development for Hotel and Cruise Ship Service.” The program, developed in collaboration with M Global Talents Co., Ltd., will be offered under the Faculty of Arts curriculum, allowing students to complete the course in 4 months and be immediately ready for employment on international cruise ships.
Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul explained that this initiative follows an MOU signed with M Global Talents Co., Ltd. in February to jointly offer a short-term, intensive personnel development course. The program includes specialized training in areas such as Food & Beverage and Housekeeping, with one month of instruction followed by a 3-month internship at a 5-star hotel. Graduates will be equipped to work on cruise ships and in hotels.
“The cruise tourism industry is currently one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world. RMUTP recognizes the importance of training personnel to work in this field, which not only generates income for the country but also offers workers on cruise ships salaries up to seven times higher than domestic jobs. Moreover, they have the opportunity to travel to various countries along the cruise routes.”
