The Faculty of Mass Communication Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized the “Mass Fest Thesis Exhibition 2024” from February 29 to March 1, 2024, at SiamScape, 1st Floor. The exhibition, which was inaugurated by Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, showcased the thesis works of 4th-year students. The event aimed to demonstrate the potential and skills of students from The Faculty of Mass Communication Technology.
The event featured 67 projects from students across four disciplines, all presented under the theme of a ‘Carnival’ festival. The showcased works included 12 projects from the Advertising and Public Relations Technology program, 8 projects from the Television and Radio Broadcasting Technology program, 32 projects from the Multimedia Technology program, and 15 projects from the Creative Media Technology program. Additionally, the exhibition included panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions led by expert speakers on topics such as “Sharing Experiences,” “Short Films Without Disappointment,” “Breaking Down Content,” and “Straightforward Multimedia.” These activities were designed to facilitate experience exchange and to create future job opportunities.
Asst.Prof. Dr. Widchaporn Taipjutorus, Dean of Faculty of Mass Communication Technology The event aims to showcase the students’ work to the general public and industry professionals. This year, fourth-year students from all four disciplines participated, presenting a variety of outstanding and high-quality projects. Notable examples include the “Through the Flames of Disaster” project from Multimedia Technology students, which is a virtual reality simulation where players take on the role of individuals in an emergency situation, navigating their way to safety from a fire. Another impressive project is the “Miniature Board Game Jungle 20”, a party game themed around wildlife conservation, allowing players to learn about different endangered species.
Additionally, the “Taling Chan Floating Market Tourism Promotion and Public Relations Project” by students from the Advertising and Public Relations Technology program aims to encourage younger generations to revisit floating markets. This is being promoted through the Facebook page “Taling Chan Floating Market Thailand” and TikTok clips that highlight popular shops, local specialties, attractions, and activities around the market.
Another notable project is “Social Camp: The Fun Camping Guide” from Creative Media Technology students, which creates content for novice campers. This content is shared through a Facebook page that has gained over 400 followers in just four months. Furthermore, the “Ratchaburi Tourism Documentary: More Than Just the Famous Jars” by Media Production Technology students seeks to highlight lesser-known aspects of Ratchaburi province, such as traditional charcoal stoves, woven skirts, and coconut sugar. This documentary aims to encourage more people to visit and support local products.
“Mass communication professionals must work to uplift society, adapting to the changes of the times. Every student project must involve collaboration with the community or industry, reflecting the joint efforts between students and the community. This hands-on experience outside the classroom equips students with the skills to produce media content of the highest quality,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology.
Assist. Prof. Pongkrit Palaleert, Head of Media Production Technology, noted that student projects blend theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The diverse range of projects—covering tourism promotion, brand development, and cultural exploration—illustrates the students’ readiness to contribute effectively to the media industry.
